Tap Into Your Wild Side! — Brats and Beer with Affäre

March 30, 2026 By lara@casualanimalbrewing.com

Tap into your wild side at Casual Animal Brewing Company where local beer, plants, and art intersect! Our taproom brims with floor to ceiling greenhouse vibes and graphic design. Enjoy a pint or flight of our 11 rotating taps, including our Local Motive beer where $2 of every pint is donated to a different KC non-profit every two months.

This month, every pint of the Local Motive Pale Ale benefits Pawsperity. $2 of every pint sold goes directly to the organization to support their mission dedicated to unleashing the power of human potential. Through training in the trade of pet grooming, they empower families to uplift themselves from generational poverty.

Meet some Pawsperity representatives onsite 5:30 – 8pm to learn more about the organization, volunteer opportunities, and upcoming events.

We are also crazy excited to announce our food partnership with @affarekc in anticipation of the World (Stage) ⚽️ this summer! We formally invite you to our April 3rd First Friday where we will be taste-testing and trialing our collaboration. Your feedback and help as we ready all systems would mean, well, THE WORLD 😉 .

Food is hot at 5pm and served until they sell out! Come hungry and come early to ensure a taste of this unique partnership.

MORE ADVOCACY: Visit with Drenda Williams from DJW Drinks, sampling her natural sodas that support domestic violence survivors and prevention in Kansas City.

Convos Around the Dinner Table

March 30, 2026 By vulpesbastille@gmail.com

Convos Around the Dinner Table is Gallery Athanor and Vulpes Bastille’s second annual undergraduate exhibition featuring 80 students from 7 regional universities.

Through an open call to undergraduate students, the exhibition is an exciting showcase of the next generation of artistic talent. Collaborative conversations curated by Tanith K of Gallery Athanor reveal the creativity and vision of student artists from seven colleges and universities across the metropolitan area.

At Vulpes Bastille, an expansive, large group exhibition explores four conversation topics: Autonomy, Life under Harmful Systems, Memory, and Home.

A smaller curated exhibition titled Blue Plate Special will take place at Gallery Athanor featuring the work of current Juniors and Seniors.

Each artwork represents a young artist engaging and reflecting on their rapidly changing world. The show provides a platform and introduction of each artist, while simultaneously bringing them together in conversation. Their fresh perspectives shed new light on undercurrents shaping our society and its future.

“We’re thrilled to offer these emerging artists a platform to present their work and introduce them to the greater KC arts community.” curator Tanith K said. “Undergrads tend to be overlooked since they are so fresh in their art career. Despite their inexperience, their work adds important voices to the cultural conversation and we are remiss to exclude them.”

There will be a reception at Vulpes Bastille on Friday, April 3 and a reception at Gallery Athanor on Saturday, April 4. Please join us for an afternoon of artist talks on Sunday, April 19 from (1 – 3 PM) at Vulpes Bastille (1737 Locust St, Kansas City, MO 64108).

Exhibition Details:

  • Vulpes Bastille Reception: Friday, April 3 (6 – 9 PM)

  • Gallery Athanor Reception: Saturday, April 4 (1 – 4 PM)

  • Artist Talks @ Vulpes Bastille: Sunday, April 19 (1 – 3 PM)

  • Gallery Hours: Sundays (1 – 4 PM) or by appointment
