First Friday — Art for Healing Hearts

June 13, 2024 By jon@buttonwoodartspace.com

Join us for beer, wine, music, and ART during First Friday in March!
Step into a world where creativity thrives without limits and join us on an extraordinary journey that goes beyond mere strokes of a paint brush. It’s an artistic adventure filled with hope, healing, and boundless imagination. We are thrilled to present “Art for Healing Hearts,” an exhibition that calls upon artists to unleash their creativity for a noble cause.
Whether through vibrant colors, serene landscapes, abstract compositions, and so much more, the possibilities are as limitless as your imagination. “Art for Healing Hearts” will showcase artistic talent through many mediums including paintings, photographs, mixed media works, sculptures, and more — each illustrating how creativity inspires healing.
This show benefits University Health Foundation, an academic health center providing accessible, state-of-the-art quality healthcare to the community regardless of the ability to pay. University Health provides exceptional care – without exception – to all who walk through the doors, regardless of income or insurance status. It’s the one health system our community can’t live without.
50% of sold artwork sales will go directly to artists, with the remaining 50% benefiting University Health.

First Friday — “Visions of the Flint Hills”

June 13, 2024 By jon@buttonwoodartspace.com

The 16th Annual Visions of the Flint Hills Art Benefit and Sale is a juried exhibition featuring artwork of the remarkable ecosystem that is the Flint Hills. The Flint Hills region contains the largest tallgrass prairie in North America. The beautiful scenes of the prairie inspire artists locally and nationally.

Join us for live music, drinks, and tons of great art on October 4th! From 5 – 8pm, explore the Flint Hills region of Kansas right here in Kansas City through the artwork of amazing artists.

All artworks in this exhibition will depict or be derived from the Flint Hills region of Kansas. This exhibit will run from October 1st — December 11th, 2024 at Buttonwood Art Space, 3013 Main Street, Kansas City, MO 64108.

Award winners will be announced that evening! Award categories include: Painting, Photography, 3D, and Other.

Art sales benefit Friends of Konza Prairie (FOKP), a friends group of Kansas State University. FOKP promotes educational research and experiences in the Konza Prairie Biological Station, an area of the Flint Hills just south of Manhattan, Kansas. The 8,600 acre Konza Prairie and the surrounding Flint Hills region contain the largest remaining parcels of the Tallgrass Prairie that once covered 140 million acres in North America.

Each purchase of beautiful artwork will benefit FOKP with 50% of net sales going to the organization and the remaining 50% going directly to artists.

We hope you will join us for an evening of art at Buttonwood Art Space!
