Join us for the opening reception of Benjamin Park’s exhibition: Decade +. This exhibition features some of his latest paintings as well as a multimedia installation.

The subject matter that Parks works with is a state of being unmasked emotionally. Seeking out unguarded moments where the true nature of a person is visible, these real moments formulate
on large scale canvases in realistic and highly detailed yet uniquely stylized compositions. Parks blends his own emotional experience into the process with his perception of the subject.

From his imagination of a stranger to real interpersonal relationships with close family members, each step and layer of paint mirrors a life experience. Not all layers of paint are visible, yet they affect the outcome of the whole just as the subconscious mind affects our outer lives. Park’s exhibition visually brings the subconscious into awareness.
