Kansas City comedians will be challenged to step outside their comfort zones and be put on the spot as they vie to win the Tirade Tournament and the title “Midwest Rant Champion.”
Eight of the region’s top comedians earned a spot in the tournament by placing highest in a qualifying contest where they pulled topics out of a hat and were challenged to rant about them. For the Tirade
Tournament, they will be assigned random topics and emotions from the audience and be challenged to improvise a rant on the spot with no advance preparation.
Participants will be scored by judges and audience applause. The winner of the tournament will receive a cash prize, and be crowned “Midwest Rant Champion.” The Tirade Tournament was created by, and will be hosted by nationally touring comedian Jamie Campbell.
