Its genesis was a dinner Chef Smith and his wife, Nancy Smith, had with friends at Guido, a one-star Michelin restaurant in Italy’s Piedmont region. As wine flowed and course after course emerged from the tiny kitchen, the couple knew this was the experience they wanted to bring back to Kansas City; evenings that become memories, bonds that become stronger over extraordinary food and wine.
