Mojave Robb Live at Border Brewing Company

February 3, 2022 By julie_c@kccrossroads.org

“Mojave Robb” Sansonetti has developed a unique musical style that was born out of both the Mojave Desert and his rural life in Northwest Missouri. Born in California in 1970, Robb grew up listening to bands the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, James Taylor, Bob Dylan, John Denver, and the Eagles (among others), which had a profound influence on his sound.

At an early age he knew he wanted to make music, and he began playing guitar and writing his own music before he even reached puberty. In his teenage years, Robb performed in heavy metal bands and even had some limited success with a neo-classical speed metal trio called “Sacrament” where he played the bass guitar and sang.

Robb released a self-published record of his collection of early recordings under the name “Robbie Ray” before releasing his first professional recording in 2018 entitled Robb Sansonetti-The “Four and the Floor EP”.

In 2019, Robb released his third record (a single) with “Burley Creek Revival” called “The Weaver’s Net”. In the same year, the band became “Mojave Robb and the Peyoteros” and released a four song EP entitled “The Birdhouse Sessions”, and then a global pandemic shut down the music industry. Robb used that time to work on an upcoming solo LP set to be released some time in 2022.

The Black Mariah Theater Live at Border Brewing Company

February 3, 2022 By eric@borderbrewco.com

Twin sisters Analiese and Sophia make up the Kansas City based band, The Black Mariah Theater. Their sparkly witch-rock sound, as it’s been described, is genre-bending funky drum beats, jazzy guitar tones, and tell-it-like-it-is lyrics. Perfect for anyone who’s had a bad day, a lonely night or a broken heart.

The Kansas City Bear Fighters Live at Border Brewing Company

February 3, 2022 By eric@borderbrewco.com

Founded in the cruel winter of 2007, The Kansas City Bear Fighters first took shape as one lonely man’s homage to music as a salve for the soul. Originally, the group performed under the nom de plume “The Denver Broncos” which many considered to be the product of one man’s struggling and genius search for a fire that could crack the deep cavernous walls of his soul.

Quinn, the band’s leader and sole songwriter, took up music after a failed career as the leader of a short-lived, but violent, cult. Sean, brother of Quinn, son of Stephen and Katherine, is as tough as the soviet hammer and as crooked as the scythe that crosses it. Grant is a man of many talents who collects stamps and is an amateur etymologist; both trades he learned while serving a eight year sentence in Leavenworth for torturing a farmer and his wife. Jeffrey Williams, the newest and most flexible member of the band, was the youngest of his family acrobat act called “The Flying Williamses”. A gangster who’d been extorting money from the circus sabotaged their trapeze equipment, and Jeff was the only one who survived the disaster. As part of his elaborate vow to avenge his family, he took up playing the guitar.

The crooners play regularly throughout the Midwest.

David Luther Live at Border Brewing Company

February 3, 2022 By eric@borderbrewco.com

David Luther is on the verge of exploding into the singer-songwriting universe with his newest release, the single “Good To You” featuring Nashville powerhouse singer Kim Keyes. The single is a precursor to the amazing new EP, produced by Kansas City, singer-songwriter-producer, David George.
David Luther joined David George & A Crooked Mile playing guitar and singing backup in 2017. During the Covid Pandemic of 2020 Luther started working with David George on the single “Home To Kansas City,” a tribute to the city they call home and released it in the Spring of 2021. Songs from the EP, produced by David George and engineered by Pat Tomek (The Rainmakers) will start being released early in 2022. They will include “World’s Gonna Change” a previous collaboration with Academy Award and Golden Globe winning songwriter, Tom Whitlock (“Take My Breath Away” — Top Gun).
