BARRACA 49 — A Sound Camp by Nomada

June 2, 2022 By julie_c@kccrossroads.org

For the seekers who no longer fit the status quo, it’s time to come home. We’ve repurposed a massive, vintage military tent, equipped with our HI-FI sound system and set up camp in the middle of the Crossroads.

MISSION: After checking in at the front desk, make your way through the 14ft gates and prepare to be transported to a sonic paradise. Life in the NOW. All together under one roof, the dance will set us free. Experience a unique rotation of the finest, local music selectors and international talent. Everyone entering the space is an active contributor. Together we become the fabric of what is possible. Find your rhythm at BARRACA.

SATURDAY JUNE 4

SEB WILDBLOOD — drops into Barraca49 on his 2022 world tour, in support of his sophomore album which drops May 18th via his own label all my thoughts. We’re honored to host him for the first time in Kansas City as he makes his way across the globe.

Hailed as “one of the most prolific figures in the UK’s underground scene” by DJ Mag, DJ/producer, composer, Seb Wildblood has long been adored in the electronic underground. Wildblood’s approach to music is a welcoming, generous one, that always places its focus on the listener. From radiant house and garage to spaced-out electro and ambient, the poise and emotional current that runs through his work have seen him being lauded throughout the global club circuit. Prepare yourself for a dreamy night in “an audial world of minimalism and introspection” — Earmilk. Local DJ support from Marvin Gardens and mr. Bungalow. A warm dance floor awaits.

SATURDAY morning JUNE 4 — SOUL SERVICE (space to grow)

Created as a hub for individuals to come alive with purpose and find support in the collective, Soul Service offers unique experiences based on holistic, earth-centered, community growth.

10 – 11 AM: Dalton Homolka and DJ Mac Mystic take us on a transformative journey through yoga and music on hifi-sound. Flowing into the morning, waking our bodies and our minds. This yoga class is open to all skill levels.

11 – 11:20 AM: Sink into a comfortable shavasana as Rylie Beck leads a guided meditation and sound bath, re-centering our connection to the earth and its teachings.

Holistic mocktails and energy bites provided with entry. Stick around afterwards and connect with the Soul Service and Nomada community.

*All tickets include entry. Guests must be 21+ after 6PM to attend. All ticket sales are final.
