To the Dark and the Endless Sky, by Tucson-based artist Kate Breakey, is comprised of over ninety magnified portraits of moths from around the world. The exhibition transforms the gallery into a dense, salon-style installation that reveals the intricate textures and patterns of these often-overlooked creatures. At a time of global insect decline, Breakey’s work carries an ecological resonance, inviting viewers to look more closely and consider the fragile systems these species inhabit. The exhibition also includes a selection of luminous orotone photographs, printed on glass and backed with 24-carat gold leaf, hat expand her practice through their rich material presence.
